The concert takes place on Poplar Street in the block between First Street and Second Street in downtown Macon. The stage is set up in the intersection of Poplar Street and First Street facing southward and the block of Poplar Street is closed to vehicular traffic between First and Second Streets for concert-goers to enjoy the show. No seating is provided during the light show but you are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and pick a spot to enjoy the show.

TIPS FOR ENJOYING THE SHOW

Bring the whole family! The Macon Pops Christmas Spectacular is completely free and open to the public, making it the perfect opportunity to start a new holiday tradition.

Arrive early. The concert kicks off right at 6:00pm. The show usually lasts 1-1.5 hours. Allow plenty of time to arrive downtown, find parking, and walk to the concert site. Carpooling, using a rideshare program, or walking to the show is highly encouraged!

Be aware of street closures. We are preparing for thousands of people to enjoy this concert and that means we must close some streets to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. Poplar Street will be closed from DT Walton Sr. Way to Second Street, and First Street will be closed from Poplar Street to Cherry Street. This will impact how you enter downtown if you are coming from I-75!

Be prepared to walk. This event usually draws 12,000+ people to downtown Macon. You will have to walk from your parking spot to the show. Luckily, downtown Macon is very walkable and safe, and alleys help you arrive to your destination quickly.

Figure out your parking options ahead of time. On-street parking and parking garages are available. See your options on our parking page or by visiting Park Macon’s website.

Pack a chair. No seating is provided during the Christmas Spectacular. Bring a portable chair or blanket with you to fully enjoy the experience. Find a spot where you can see the stage (located at the intersection of First Street and Poplar Street) and enjoy the show!
